Stocks League

The rules

How it works

Finish top of your league's table at full time. Your side is five real Stock Tokens bought with your budget and held for you by the league contract. Its score is ten points per percent of gain from the official Chainlink price at Monday's opening bell to the official price at Friday's closing bell. First takes 60% of the pot, second 30%, third 10%. Win or lose, the stocks are yours afterwards: keep them, cash out, or run it back next gameweek.

The side

Exactly five stocks, in a 1-2-2: one Keeper, two Defenders, two Forwards. You cannot field five forwards, and that constraint is the game.

SGOVSGOVSGOV$2.50
NVDANVDANVDANVDANVDA$2.50
META$2.50
CTSLAC$5.00
GMEGMEGMEGMEGME$2.50
A side on a $15 budget: the captain takes two of the six shares ($5.00), the other four one each ($2.50). Worked example.

Positions are fixed per stock and enforced while you draft. The contract itself stores five tokens and five amounts and knows nothing about positions, so the formation is a rule of the game rather than a rule of the ledger.

The captain

One pick wears the armband and its stake is doubled.

One share$2.50
CArmband$5.00
The captain is a real position size, not a multiplier bolted on afterwards: two of the six shares of the budget buy twice as much of that stock.

Positions

Positions describe temperament, not quality. Keepers are the names that move least, forwards the ones that swing. They are set by hand from realised volatility and revisited between gameweeks, never mid-week.

Keepers · 7

AAPL · AMZN · GOOGL · MSFT · QQQ · SGOV · SPY

Defenders · 10

AMD · ASML · BABA · DELL · INTC · META · NVDA · SLV · TSM · USO

Forwards · 9

CRCL · GME · MSTR · MU · PLTR · SNDK · SPCX · TSLA · USAR

Funds carry an ETF tag on their card. Nine more Stock Tokens have an official price but no USDG pool, so nothing can buy them; they are listed on the squad page and cannot be drafted.

Budget and entry

Every manager in a league plays the same budget. The captain gets two of the six shares, the other four one each.

Budget
The stock money. It becomes five Stock Tokens you own. Default $15 in the Open League; $5 to $1,000 in a private one.
Entry fee
The pot money. $0 in the Open League. In a private league it is whatever the creator set, up to $100, and 100% of it goes to the pot.
What you pay
Budget plus entry fee, in USDG, or the same amount funded from ETH in one signature.
What you own
From entry until you withdraw, your five positions are held by the league contract under your address. Only you can move them.
Leaving
Before kick-off you may leave: the entry fee is refunded in full and the five positions stay withdrawable. After kick-off the side is final.

Points

Ten points for every percent your side gains, from the official price at Monday's opening bell to the official price at Friday's closing bell. A +5.3% week is +53 points.

TSLA C+8.0%2/6+27
GME+2.4%1/6+4
The side+3.38%+34

Worked example. The side's total is the contract's own number, never the sum of the five rows; the two agree to within a point of rounding.

Points are a presentation of the ratio the contract settles on, never a separate system. Your five picks are weighted by their value at Monday's bell, not by what you paid. Finishes within 1% are decided by the snapshot, the same way for everyone.

The two bells

A gameweek runs from Monday's opening bell to Friday's closing bell. The weekend is the draft window.

  1. Team sheets openFriday 3:55 PM ETFive minutes before the previous gameweek ends. The whole weekend is the draft window.
  2. Team Sheet NightSunday 8:00 PM ETThe Chainlink equity feeds wake for the week. Last call before the bell.
  3. Kick-offMonday 9:30 AM ETPicks lock. The first official price after the bell is recorded once for every token anyone holds.
  4. Full timeFriday 4:00 PM ETThe closing prices are recorded, every league settles and the pot pays out.

Prices are recorded from the first official Chainlink print after each bell, five minutes later, so a slow node cannot change anyone's score. Copy says the picks lock at the bell and the league settles at the bell; it never promises a number of seconds.

The table and the pot

The matchday table ranks by points all week. At full time the pot pays 60/30/10 to the podium.

2$30.00
Second
1$60.00
First
3$10.00
Third
Worked example on a $100 pot. With exactly two managers the third share goes to first, 70/30. Rounding dust goes to first.
The pot
Every entry fee, plus any sponsorship. The protocol takes nothing from it.
Ranking
Points descending. A tie goes to whoever entered first.
Two managers
70/30. Rounding dust goes to first.
If a payout fails
It becomes claimable by the winner rather than blocking the settlement.
Afterwards
Keep the five, cash out to USDG, or run it back next gameweek. Nothing expires.

The calendar

The next eight gameweeks, in New York market time and in yours.

All sixteen gameweeks are published in the contract. A Monday holiday moves kick-off to Tuesday, a Friday holiday moves full time to Thursday, and a half day closes at 1:00 PM ET.

Fees

0.5% protocol fee on each buy and sale, pool fees of 0.05% to 1%, slippage up to the minimum you approve, gas in ETH.

A worked example: entering the Open League with a $15 budget and no entry fee.

There is no fee on a payout, on keeping your stocks, on leaving before kick-off, or on the entry fee itself. Fees accrue inside the contract and are pulled by the treasury, so a bad treasury address can never stop a manager entering or leaving. The live rate and every gameweek's collected fees are on the pot page.

Prices, and how old they are

Every scored price is the official Chainlink price. Every price you pay is the pool price. The two are never mixed.

Feeds: heartbeat 86,400 s, deviation 0.5%, 24/5. A feed reposts only when the price moves ≥ 0.5% or 24 h elapse, so age is not an accuracy measure: a 20-hour-old answer means the price has stayed within ±0.5% of it for 20 hours. Observed on Wednesday 2026-09-09 pre-market: ages from 2 minutes (GOOGL, META) to 15.1 h (MSFT), with SGOV at 11.1 h. Any answer younger than heartbeat plus a margin is, by the feed's own contract, within 0.5% of the true price; anything older can only mean the feed is paused (corporate action) or broken. Hence STALENESS = 86,400 + 43,200 = 36 hours, with per-token pending so one frozen feed delays only its holders, and 72-hour force paths as documented degradation. Worst-case score error from the deviation band: 0.5% at lock + 0.5% at close on one name, identical for every holder of that name (shared snapshot), so it cannot change the relative rank of two players holding the same basket. There is no L2 sequencer uptime feed on this chain, so none is consulted; a sequencer outage only delays the permissionless snapshot.

Reproduced from the specification, in the contract's own words: “lock” is kick-off and “close” is full time. The 36-hour limit is now stored per gameweek, so a holiday week can carry a different one without a redeploy, and the contract caps it at 72 hours. The Chainlink 24/5 session hours are an assumption confirmed by the round-history probe.

What if

Every way a gameweek can go wrong, and what happens then.

A feed stops printing
Only the managers holding that stock wait. Everyone else's prices are recorded on time, and the app names the token: "Waiting for fresh prices for DELL (corporate action). The bell rings when Chainlink does." After 72 hours anyone may force the snapshot, which uses the last answer.
Nobody rings the bell
Anyone can. Recording kick-off prices, recording full-time prices and settling a league are open to anyone, so a league never depends on us. The buttons are on the league page.
Fewer than two managers at kick-off
The league goes into refund mode there and then: entry fees come back, sponsorships go back to their sponsors, and your five positions are yours to keep or cash out.
A stock is halted
It cannot be drafted while the token or its oracle is paused. If you already hold it, settlement moves only USDG, so the pot still pays; the paused position waits and the other four still move.
A gameweek never closes
If a gameweek has not fully closed within 7 days of full time, or a league is unsettled 14 days after it, anyone may put the league into refund mode.
A price is unusable at kick-off
If a feed is dead when the snapshot is forced, that stock is unscorable and every league holding it refunds rather than scoring on a made-up number.
You change your mind before kick-off
Leave. The entry fee comes back in full and your five positions stay withdrawable. After kick-off the side is final.
You lose your device
Nothing is stored on it. Your positions and your entry live under your address in the league contract; connect the same wallet anywhere and they are there.
